Update: Withdrew a star as discovered they don't accept contactless which is even available in my local corner shop. Suppose with the prices increasing all the time and loads of add on options (3D, VIP, SUPERSCREEN/4DX) it won't be very useful unless buying 2 standard tickets but would still like the option!!This cinema has had a major make over and looks like something you'd expect in Las Vegas. Everything is all flashy and luxurious. No more queuing up in run down lobbies with ugly stained carpets that you're used to everywhere else. There is even a swanky bar and a dedicated Starbucks. To add even more class there is the choice of Super Screen, VIP or 4DX screenings which all seem great value. Super Screen offers a massive screen experience, VIP your own personal chef created buffet and luxurious recliner seats and 4DX a roller coaster of an experience where you feel part of the movie with interactive seats that tickle you, spit on you and punch you! Really can't get a better cinema for choice in Scotland. Even the food has had an upgrade! Don't think ill ever be able to downgrade to a "normal" cinema again! All they need now is to play older films on 4DX during the day rather than one new release film for a full week or two as Jack Reacher really ruined the experience where as Suicide Squad blew me away!! Choosing the right movie is really important rather than banging out everything in 4DX so would recommend VIP over 4DX unless it's a highly anticipated movie with plenty of action/scares etc. Needs to be a movie that sucks you in and keeps you interested so you benefit from 4DX. Jack Reacher was so boring the seats just became uncomfy and I was getting distracted by every little thing like staff stomping up the aisle doing security checks every fifteen mins!! Great parking nearby at night too £2.50 flat fee in the car park opposite or free on street if you can find a space!! If you want to have a great day out at the cinema go here!! The closest you'll get to 4DX in other cinemas are broken seats that swing back and forth. Book online for an extra discount and you might even get 4DX for cheaper than non 4DX elsewhere or VIP with included buffet and luxury experience for the same price as stained carpets and a hotdog and fries elsewhere (£29 per person including film with recliner and all food and non alcoholic drink).

basically ,i loved the movie and i’ve came here for like years like since i was like 3 ,but every time there is another silly teenager making silly/annoying noises and no one does anything. everyone else is complaining but then next time i come here it happens again + the food is TOO expensive sort it out

First time at cineworld
It was my first time going to cineworld, although the chairs aren’t as comfortable as the VUE ones, the customer service is great here so I was surprised to see the place with such a low rating. I would recommend.

Shame they are struggling
Shame they are struggling. Find them much better than the ODEON but concerned about going back into one even for 007. Their teams can be hit and miss but overall a good experience.

I love Cineworld Unlimited
Mixed bag of reviews here. I’m really surprised as I have had a great first year of Cineworld Unlimited. Saved loads of money and enjoyed 25% discount at restaurants and 10% in Cineworld on snacks (now gone up to 25%). I can also combine this with Meerkat Movies to get a friend in for free on Tues and Weds. Love it!Everything is excellent in my local Cineworld too, snacks, screens, seats, service all good. I visited the Isle of Wight Cineworld on Sunday 14th. We were waiting at the Ice cream counter for service, one of the staff notice there was no one on the counter and rushed over to serve us. He greeted us in such a friendly manner, helped us with the tickets and chatted to us about the upcoming movies while scooping our ice cream. He gave us all the unlimited preview information as we have Unlimited cards. Mark (the staff member) is an amazing asset to the team and always gives top service!

They listened to my complaint
I have just received a refund from Cineworld because my VIP experience was awful. Following the reviews about Cineworld I didn’t think they would respond. They responded within around 2 weeks and have confirmed my refund today. I am so pleased but I just wanted to let customers know that there is hope for Cineworld so don’t always go by the reviews and I appreciate it Cineworld !

Using Cineworld gift cards
Purchased some tickets on the Cineworld web site using a Cineworld gift card with top up payments from my credit card. Instructions on how to use the gift card were very unclear and the initial payment screen indicated that the full amount of the purchase price had been taken from my credit card. With all the toing and froing on the website, the viewing date had changed. I only noticed this when we were about to go to watch the film. We were denied entry (nicely I might add) because the date on the ticket did not match and I had to purchase additional tickets for that date. I was given the Customer Services number and contacted them the following day. The assistant there was extremely helpful and pleasant and after having a word with her supervisor, gave me two complimentary tickets. Excellent customer service marred by lack of clarity on the instructions for redeeming the gift card.

I booked tickets for 7people, website put out the incorrect date and by the time i checked i had missed the film and was £88 down.called customer services - OH MY GOODNESS HOW GOOD WERE THEY!no arguments - yes yes yes - all sorted - booking rescheduled even given a little freebie to make the experience so lovelycustomer complaint handling is the mark of a company in my view - if they get that right the company is on very steady ground
